From the Basement to the Barn...A New Chapter for Growing In Process

A few weeks ago I shared a difficult truth: that my family was facing an unexpected move after eight years of renting a home in a community we deeply love. Many of you reached out with messages of care, concern, and solidarity. I want to thank you for that—you reminded me that community is not just something we talk about, but something we actively build together.

Today, I’m writing with steadier ground beneath my feet because we are in the process of buying a forever home!

Against all odds, with the help of those loving souls around us, and we were able to put in an offer on a home that feels aligned with who we are as a family. It is an old farmhouse—quirky, tired, full of history, and very much in need of love. It will take work. It will take patience. It probably take a lifetime of morning coffees and small wins before it shines up to its full potential.

There is an old barn. There are old trees that I swear whispered to me when I met them. There are fields of goldenrod. There are rooms of peeling wallpaper that will someday hold sunlight, art supplies, muddy boots, sleeping children, and the quiet hum of a life being rebuilt with love.

This will not be a simple move. There is renovation ahead—real renovation, the kind that requires grit, imagination, and resources. Growing In Process will move with us. In time, the old barn will hold a new studio—one shaped by work I've already done to create this community. It is very likely I'll invite you over to bonfires and demo parties. Art will be hung on walls that don't exist yet. We can dream together, as we have since the beginning of this journey.

Thank you for staying beside me through the uncertainty. Thank you for your messages, your kindness, your patience as I have been quieter in my art practice. These past weeks have been overwhelming and emotional, but also clarifying. I know who I am. I know the work my hands are capable of. I know the strength of the people around me. And from that place, I feel ready to begin this new chapter.

More updates will come as we (God willing) close and settle in—photos, stories, and, eventually, the first glimpses of a studio being reborn from an old Vermont farm.

For now, know this: we are safe, we are hopeful, and we are moving toward something that feels deeply, profoundly right.

With gratitude,

Mira
